Pic shows: Manoel Izo and his daugther Esther Souza. Disabled Manoel Izo may not be able to carry his daughter in the normal way when they are on the move, but he can still give her a lift on his crutches. And 20-month-old Esther Souza happily holds on if she gets tired of walking when the father and daughter visit the shops. It is a tried and tested system for 43-year-old Manoel, who has two older children, aged 11 and 13, who also used the same method of transport when they were little. Brave Manoel has been unable to walk unaided since suffering from infantile paralysis (polio) when he was four years old. But that has not stopped him from living life to the fullest and he was overwhelmed when a video of him walking with his daughter was uploaded onto social networks, and he was flooded with comments of praise and respect. The pair were filmed while out having a walk in a shopping centre in the Rio Branco municipality, in the north-west Brazilian state of Acre and the video is now being shared thousands of times. He said: "I was surprised at the reaction because I have always carried my kids like this, letting them stand on the crutch, it’s a habit. I started using crutches when I was a 10-year-old so I don't even really think about them anymore. "I have a paralyzed leg but I can move the other a bit. Whenever my daughter is tired, she gets on the crutch and joins me. People look up to see us and yes they sometimes ask to take pictures and videos which I don't mind agreeing to." The girl weighs around 14 kilos (2.2 stone), and has the ability to balance herself on the crutch without ever falling off. He added: "No matter where you carry the children, if it is in your arms, on your back or with your legs, the important thing is to load them on to your heart, to protect them and give them love and affection. "Many thanks to the Brazilian people for your support! Good night to everyone and why not to all Brazil. First of all, I want to thank God and my family. And last, I want to thank the respect and love that I have received from netizens through social networks. You do not know how happy I am about your reaction. Thanks Brazil." (ends)
